Carlo Bettocchi, President of the ESSM
Dear Friends, Kalimera!
On behalf of the ESSM – European Society for Sexual Medicine, that I am proudly representing as President, I would like to thank our Greek friends that have been a milestone in our Society.
History brings us back to 1995, when ESIR (the former name of the ESSM) was born in Porto Carras, Greece, and since then moved forward to becoming the leading association in the field of Sexual Medicine.
Among our affiliated societies, we are now counting on the support of HUA – The Hellenic Urological Association, that has joint us a few years ago and has been actively supporting all our initiatives. We acknowledge the high standard activities and educational projects HUA is bringing forward and we keep on tiding our strong cooperation.
Let me take this opportunity to wish you a great new year; we look forward to meeting you in February (17-19) 2022 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands at our next Congress.
David Castro Diaz, General Secretary ICS
In honour of the 90th anniversary of the Hellenic Urological Association (HUA)
The International Continence Society (ICS) recognize the long history of the Hellenic Urological Association (HUA) as well as its enthusiasm and activities on both educational and scientific aspects searching the highest standards in urological care. The HUA is involved in multinational educational and scientific activities in the field, with active participation of many of its 1300 members. The HUA has successfully hosted several international Urology related events. With the HUA being highly regarded as a scientific organisation, many members are involved in International organisations with some of them occupying important positions in Committees, Sections and Schools. In addition, the HUA has a very dynamic presentation in the Greek society with regular campaigns for the public towards awareness in different urological diseases.
The ICS, as a charity organisation aiming to improve the quality of life of people with incontinence or pelvic floor disorders by extending and improving practice, is very keen in cooperating with other scientific societies. We currently have 6 affiliated societies, and we are keen on embracing those national or regional organisations who have a focus interest in the field of incontinence. As the only multidisciplinary society that focused on incontinence, the ICS is seeking affiliation with other organisations in order to enhance management of incontinence care.
The ICS is very happy and delighted to congratulate the Hellenic Urological Association (HUA) for the 90th anniversary since the foundation in 1931. All at ICS encourage the HUA to continue with the same enthusiasm in order to provide the best urological care to the Greek society.
Kind Regards,
   ANNIVERSARY GREETINGS
