Έχουν εφαρμοσθεί διάφοροι τρόποι καταγραφής της ενδονεφρικής πίεσης χωρίς όμως μέχρι σήμερα να υπάρχει ένας κοινά αποδεκτός αξιόπιστος τρόπος μέτρησης [5]. Στις περισσότερες μελέτες οι μετρήσεις πραγματοποιήθηκαν σε πειραματικές συνθήκες, in vitro σε συνθετικά πειραματικά μοντέλα αλλά και
ex vivo σε ανθρώπινα και ζωικά (χοιρίδια) όργανα. Τα τελευταία χρόνια έχουν παρουσιασθεί κλινικές μελέτες παρατήρησης της ενδονεφρικής πίεσης σε ασθενείς, σε πραγματικές συνθήκες χειρουργείου, από τις οποίες προκύπτουν ενδιαφέροντα αποτε- λέσματα (Πίνακας 3) [5].
